This excavated original GLO monument was marked with the chiseled ¼ indicating it to be a quarter corner. David G. Fleming noted this stone as being a Granite measuring 15"x8"x6". Field measurements taken on the date of excavation placed the size at 14"x7"x6" and the type of stone to be a Pink Quartzite.

The original stone had survived 150 years and was found buried beneath a county road.

The chiseled "¼" on the stone and a concrete memorial placed by Deputy State Surveyor Hugh Dillon in 1937.
