One of the most beautiful locations in the Black Hills, this bench mark is located near an area called Savoy south of Spearfish. Savoy used to be a station on the Burlington Railroad. When the bench mark was placed, the description stated it was on a large rock between Spearfish Creek and the railroad. The railroad was removed in 1933 and is now the highway. Nearby is Spearfish Falls with a visitor center and resort along with several parking lots.
The arrow points to the bench mark hidden in the leaves on the rock.
A small waterfall is in the background.
The bronze disk bench mark is at the right.

Spearfish Falls is located nearby and is a popular tourist location.
