This bench mark is located in Gillette Canyon about 7 miles north of the Jewell Cave area. It is rather difficult to find and two intense searches had to be made before its location was determined. The deep canyon is a beautiful place with a trail winding down through it. Do not attempt to drive through the canyon if it has recently rained.

The bench mark is located in this canyon. This view is looking west and the monument is to the left in the trees.

The disk is about as pristine as you will find and it has probably not been seen by very many people.

An interesting tree nearby where squirrels come to eat their snack and leave the mess at the base.
