This bench mark was once located near a small community known as Besant. When the bench mark was first established, there was not a railroad through this location. The updated Deadwood 30-minute quad sheet shows the railroad and changed the elevation on the quad to 6435. Recovered by Kurt Luebke, Jenny Stukel Penry and Jerry Penry.
