Nebraska Witness Corners


Lancaster County, Nebraska, surveyor Larry V. Worrell established a square type of concrete witness corner in Lancaster County during the summer of 1982. Iron molds were made with six threaded rods which could be taken apart. Worrell was Lancaster County surveyor from 1981-2007. The use of these markers was confined to mostly the western portion of the county and they only saw sporadic use and were discontinued soon after the project began. In 2015, five of the iron molds were still existing as shown below.
