Primary Traverse Station No. 8 (1905) is located approximately 5 miles northwest of Nebraska City at a location formerly known as the town of Wyoming. Today, only a single farm house and a few outbuildings exist. The traverse station is located northeast of the farmhouse between old cedar trees. To the east is the Union Pacific Railroad. This monument has remained untouched and is a perfect example of an old USGS iron pipe and bronze cap. This monument is located on private property and permission must be sought before entering the property. Recovered by Gene Thomsen and Jerry Penry.
